In heart of the country lies Bangkok a must visit place known for its temples  , Among the one is Wat Phra Kaew also named as Emerald Buddha  is one of the most important Buddhist temple located with in Grand Palace. Let’s learn more about this Beautiful Emerald Buddha.


History

The statue surfaced in northern Thailand in the LAN Na kingdom in 1434. The first historical reference to the figurine is its discovery in Chiang Rai in northern Thailand in 1434 CE when lightning cracked open the stucco wall of a chedi (bell-shaped Buddhist stupa) and revealed its hiding place. Later the  King Sam Fang Kaen of Lan Na wanted it in his capital, Chiang Mai, but the elephant carrying it insisted, on three separate occasions, on going instead to Lampang. This was taken as a divine sign, and the Emerald Buddha stayed in Lampang in a specially-built temple and remained in Chiang Mai until 1552

In 1564 King Setthathirath moved it to Vientiane, which he had made his new capital due to Burmese attacks and where the Buddha image was housed in Haw Phra Kaew.

In 1779, the Siamese General Chao Phraya Chakri put down an insurrection, captured Vientiane and took the Emerald Buddha to Siam.

Later it was moved to Wat Phra in 1784 which is currently in Grand Palace. 







The emerald buddha at Wat Phra Kaew-  A seasonal cloak changed 3 times year a correspond to summer, winter and rainy . Avery important ritual the changing of the robes is only performed by king to bring good fortune to the country.

India's first underwater museum   India is Constructing its first underwater museum  in Pondicherry .  Conceived by the Indian Navy to support tourism, INS Cuddalore, the decomposed ship, will be sunk in the ocean at a distance of 7km from the Pondicherry shore. With the establishment of this underwater museum in Pondicherry . One can enjoy water actives such as Snorkeling and Scuba diving. The 60-metre-long and 12-metre-wide vessel will be a destination for scuba diving and snorkeling. There will be trails and routes for divers to swim in and out of the ship as they watch a colorful marine ecosystem grow. “Once the marine organisms start coming in, there will be life forms at different levels in the water for tourists to see,” Banerjee said .

Abu Simbel

  ABU SIMBEL Abu Simbel is an ancient temple carved out of sandstone cliff which built during the reign of Egyptian king Ramesse II. It has set an iconic example of ancient Egyptian art located near southern Egypt near Nile river. The temple were unknown to the outside world until their rediscovery in 1813 by the swiss researcher Johann Ludwig Burckhardt and first explored by Egyptologist Giovanni Battista Belzoni in 1817 The seated figures of Ramasee are 66 feet. His wife and childrens can be seen in small figures by his feet.  The temple itself dedicated to sun god Amon re and Re Horakhte.  consist of three consecutive halls extending 185 feet into the cliff.
