Japan is well-known for its traditional Arts, Tea, Technology , Calligraphy  and UNESCO sites , apart from this it is also known for its Cat islands. The purpose behind this island was to reduce the mice population which was attracted by Silkworms thus many of cats were immigrated to this island to keep the minimum production of mice. There are three-top island in Japan which are devoted to Cats.

1) Hiroshima

Aoshima is most famous cat island in Japan though there are 15 to 20 resident but double the Cat ratio is  (more than 120 Cats ). Aoshima is located in Ehime Prefecture of south Japan, however it is not a tourist spot but many of Cat lovers love to visit Aoshima.






2)Toshiro-jima

Toshiro-jima situated in Ishinomaki Miyagi Prefecture.This island is quite small as compared  to others but have more than 100 cats .Toshiro jima has it owns cat food shop, cat buses and most famous Cat shrine called Neko-jinja .




3)Manabeshima

Manabeshima island Is in Seto island ,Most of cats on this island is black colour which is more unusual then rest two island .
